A housewife on Thursday asked an Ibadan Customary Court to dissolve her five-year-old marriage because her husband rendered her barren by conniving with doctors to remove her womb without her consent.

She said, “My lord, Musiliu has systematically rendered me barren, because I can no longer conceive due to the removal of my womb during a Cesarean surgery when I was trying to deliver my first child.

 

“While in the hospital, he should have informed any of my relatives that for me to have a safe delivery, my womb must be removed.

 

“It is not until recently that Musiliu wanted to be having sexual intercourse with me that he directed me to go for family planning.

 

“Then, medical personnel told me that I no longer have womb.

 

“Worst still, Musiliu is a drunkard and insensitive in all aspect of life.”

However, Musiliu Raji, who opposed the divorce, did not deny the allegation levelled against him, but pleaded with the court to help keep his relationship with Kafilat.

He said, “My lord, it is true that her womb was removed but the doctor informed me that her womb had already been damaged and the only option was total removal for her safe delivery.

 

“The doctor also advised me not to let her know until over a year when she could bear the pain.”

Dissolving the marriage, the court president, Mr. Henric Agbaje, held that it was clear that there was no more love between the couple.

He awarded custody of their four-year-old son to Kafilat and directed Musiliu to provide N4,000 monthly allowance for his upkeep, in addition to being responsible for the child’s education.

A lady has been disgraced after she was caught stealing at a shop. The woman was forced to bring out all that she stole from her body.

The woman was caught after a metal detector at the door sounded the alarm, she had to shed her loot – pound by pound!

According to Daily Sun ZA, the video of the incident has become a hot topic on social media. The thief was forced to remove goods hidden under her clothes one by one – from panties to baby clothes! Some are removed from her panties and bra while shoppers watch in shock.

“It looks like she stole the goods to sell them. This woman is brave,” said one of the shoppers.

Shop employees said they suspected the woman packed the goods into a basket and went into the fitting room to stash them under her clothes.

“She wasn’t so big after removing her goods and was back to her normal size,” they said.

She was handed over to the police for prosecution.

UNIMAID was bombed because of ‘ungodly’ acts - Shekau

- An online recording has emerged  purportedly of Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau confirming that his Islamist insurgent group was behind the attack on a university in Borno state capital Maiduguri on Monday, January 16

- Shekau claimed in the recording which was uploaded to YouTube that UNIMAID was attacked because of its ‘ungodly’ activities even though he did not state what they were

- The authenticity of the audio could not be immediately confirmed but NAIJ.com team is trying to reach the Nigerian Army for comment on the audio recording

- President Muhammadu Buhari hasstrongly condemned the attack which left four dead, including a professor

- In the past, Shekau does not usually swiftly react to bomb attacks by his suicide bombers, especially within 24 hours of the attack

Abubakar Shekau has said in an audio recording he reportedly released that UNIMAID was bombed because of ‘ungodly’ acts.

Elusive leader of Boko Haram insurgents Abubakar Shekau has reportedly reacted to the early morning attack on the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) on Monday, January 16.

The Cable reports that Shekau gave the reason for the terror attack on UNIMAID which claimed around four lives, including that of a professor and the two suicide bombers, in an audio tape released on YouTube.

According to the report, Shekau said the attack was retaliation to UNIMAID’s ‘ungodly’ activities.

Shekau was quoted as saying in the recording: “The bomb that happened this morning, it’s my people. Don’t deceive people that it’s a mosque, how would you build a mosque and do ungodly things in it.

“We are not angry with Nigeria. You didn’t kill anyone in Sambisa. We are praying that we don’t change; Koran is our teacher; this is the message we are sending to you. Are you [Buhari] as powerful as God?

“You should know it’s Shekau talking and I’m alive and it’s we that did it, even if King Pharaoh repents, we will not accept it.”

The authenticity of the recording could not independently confirmed as at press time.

NAIJ.com team is also trying to reach the Nigerian Army for comments on the recording allegedly made by Shekau.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF)carried out a counter operation against Boko Haram terrorists in their new hideout.

According to a statement by the air force, the day and night operation was in response to an attack on military troops on Thursday, January 12.

In an exclusive interview with Punch’s Saturday Beats, he said there is a mission statement behind his action,.

He said:

“I have done it twice and let us not make it look as if it is something I have been doing all the time. The two times I have done it were weddings where I was part of the groomsmen which means that I have a personal relationship with the bride and groom. The overall reason I chose to do this was because of the mission statement behind it. It is just unfortunate how people are so quick to jump into conclusion without actually finding out what is going on. All they think is that it is an abuse, or a form of slavery or perverted thoughts.

“For me, there is a mission statement. I would give you some examples to explain the mission statement behind my action. I would not call any names but I am sure we all know about an Emir that was given a 15-year-old as a wife. To me, that is putting women on a leash. We talk about traditional rulers that marry underage women, that is putting women on the leash. We talk about boyfriends and husbands that beat their spouses and abuse them physically, emotionally and spiritually, that is putting women on a leash. I needed to get the world’s attention first to be able to pass across my mission statement. It is all about women advocacy at the end of the day. It is all about empowering the women. These women have no voice. I refer to the girls I use as super heroes and we had to do something drastic in order to be heard and get the world’s attention. Now they are talking about it.

“Yes, there are other ways I could have gone about it but there has to be a new way all the time. This is the era of social media and if I come up with a good write-up about women advocacy, nobody would pay attention to me. I would not even get up to ten ‘likes’. We are in the era of social media and if you pay close attention, something drastic has to happen to get the attention of people on social media. Most of the people that have become popular on social media did so by doing something drastic, different and unique.”

On paying the girls, he said he never paid them a dime.

“I did not pay those girls; they are a part of my team. I am the owner of Club Uno and I have a team of people who I work with. I sat down with the team and we discussed this before I embarked on the action. When we did it at first, the level of curses we received was incredible. I was the one that suggested that the girls put on a mask so that we don’t deviate from the main point. If the masks were not on and their identities were revealed, you can imagine what they would have been going through now,” he said.

Asked if he would allow his daughter go through such, he said:

“A lot of people have done dramatic and extraordinary things even as far back as the civil movement and women have stood up for what they believed in, so if I see a picture of my daughter on a dog leash, knowing full well that I have trained her to the best of my knowledge and in the way of the Lord, I would simply pick up the phone and give her a call. I would ask if she is okay and if she replies that she is, I would tell her about the picture I saw and ask what is going on. If she tells me that she is doing something in terms of women advocacy and she is trying to liberate women, I would tell her to ride on. If it makes her happy, I would tell her to go on.

“I have been in this business for about 10 years and all through those years, I have been very controversial. If you go through my Instagram page, you would see that these are things that I am used to. I am a bit surprised that most of the people that have been bashing me are women between 35 and 50. I understand that they are upset but I was expecting that they would act more maturely because when I went through their Instagram pages, I realised that they have kids. How can a mother tell me things like I would die and my mother would perish? It only lets me know that this country is so backward that we have a long way to go. Most of the ladies that said things that were so mean were mostly mothers. I am not upset because I was already expecting it and I decided to put myself through the pain, abuses and curses because I am trying to achieve something,” he said.
