MD Ontario Oil, Ada Ugo-Ngali weeps as she's sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment for oil subsidy fraud

Mrs Ada Ugo-Ngali, the Managing Director of Ontario Oil and Gas Ltd, was on Thursday sent to jail for 10 years for defrauding the Federal Government of N754 million in oil subsidy transactions.

Mrs Ada Ugo-Ngali had earlier on  on Jan. 13 slumped in court when  her sentence was about to be pronounced by Justice Lateefa Okunnu of an Ikeja High Court. She was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH). Her family and well-wishers had escorted her to the court from the hospital.

Justice Lateefa Okunnu handed down the verdict, the first conviction since the massive oil subsidy fraud trial allegedly perpetuated by oil marketers began in 2012.

Walter Wagbatsoma, Ugo-Ngadi’s co-defendant and the Chairman of Ontario Oil and Gas Ltd, was
absent in court for the judgment. He is currently being held in the United Kingdom on charges relating to a £12 million National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) Trust fraud.

Okunnu, in her judgment, sentenced Wagbatsoma and Ugo-Ngadi to a minimum of 10 years imprisonment for the six– count charge proffered against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

“For each of the counts of conspiracy to obtain money by false pretences, the defendants are sentenced to 10 years in prison.

 “For the count of conspiracy to commit forgery, the defendants are sentenced to seven years in prison, for the offence of forgery, the defendants are sentenced to eight years in prison,” she said.

The judge noted that the total sentences passed were 69 years for each of the defendants, but that the sentences would run concurrently.

On Ontario Oil and Gas Ltd, Okunnu said:

“I hereby give an order of restitution to Ontario Oil and Gas Ltd. The N754 million which was defrauded by the company should be returned to the Federal Government.”

After the sentence was pronounced, counsel to Ugo-Ngadi, Mr Y.A. Kadiri, made an attempt to complain to Justice Okunnu about the treatment given his client by the EFCC.

“For the record, the conduct of the prosecution has been unethical. “The second defendant has been in hospital though her situation had improved slightly, the prosecution mounted tremendous pressure on the hospital management to discharge her,” he said.

Okunnu, however, refused to listen to the complaint of the defence.

“I am now `functus officio’, if you have any complaint of ethical conduct, go to the appropriate authorities,” she ruled.

Ugo-Ngadi, who was on a wheelchair while the sentence was read, remained stoic and expressionless.

As soon as the court rose, a white Kirikiri Female Prison van drove into the court’s premises and immediately conveyed her to the facility to serve her term, Vanguard reports.

The hunky butcher came from humble beginnings.

In an interview with Turkish news website Aksam, the butcher revealed that he was the son of a miner and left school early because his family could not afford to keep him in education.
Speaking to Hürriyet, he said:

 'People see me as uncouth. I am the son of a mine worker. My father and mother do not know literacy.
'I cannot go to school due to financial difficulties. I started to working at a butcher as an apprentice when I was 14. Meat has become a passion for me.'

After apprenticing as a butcher, he sharpened his skills in Argentina before setting up his own establishment.

He has now grown his business into a successful model and people flock to eat his food from all over the world.

On the economy it will be better than that of last year. In 2017, the Lord promise divine provision to those who believe in him. Prices of commodities will come down. In 2017 exchange rate will reduce little compare to what was obtainable in 2016, but the reduction will be little. But Nigeria will be better economically than what was obtainable last year.

Women and Young Ladies 
Warnings to women and young ladies, because Lord said a lot of them will be used for ritual. They should pray very well and be vigilant not to be a victim of ritualists. This is a big warning to those ladies that always look out for free ride popularly called lift.

Boko- Haram 
There will be crises in some place but we are praying against that. Boko-Haram will want to re-strategize, we will see the signs but God will defeat them. In 2017, God will reveal Boko-Haram sponsors.

Federal Executive  In 2017 there will be minor cabinet reshuflement, some ministers will be replaced.

Protection against Death 
We should pray very well in 2017 because it is a mixed year in the sense that some people will be blessed while there will also be death tolls, we should pray for protection of Nigerian citizens. The horse was however dead by the time Journalists visited the church. It was gathered that the woman whose identity is not yet known started screaming during the prayer session and began to bleed from the v*g*na before the horse came out.
The General Overseer of the church, Evangelist Silva Wealth, said he was still amazed at what came out of the woman. He told Journalists that during prayers a revelation came that there was a woman with an issue and that something was blocking her womb. Silva said as prayers intensified, the woman started screaming and bled as the object came out of her.

The cleric said he couldn’t confirm whether the horse was dead or alive because he didn’t go near it.

A leader of a four man gang, Segun akuntola and his accomplices have been arrested by the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command for their involvement in fraudulent activities.
Akintola popularly called Okadigbo who had evaded arrest since 2013 ran out of luck as the RRS Decoy Team caught him at his shrine at Ijora.
The gang reportedly specializes in defrauding innocent citizens within the State.
The only female member of the team, Toyin Idebi, 25 confessed that her job was to pretend as someone looking for direction to her destination, while carrying fake foreign to entice people before taking them to her gang to defraud them.
“I was a stylist and doing well before I joined them. When I saw how they were spending money on ladies like me, then I moved closer to them to know their secret
“My main job was to act as someone who was carrying foreign currencies who didn’t know her destination. Though, those currencies were fake but I didn’t know how Okadigbo got them.”
“Initially, they were reluctant to tell me their job as they just told me they were into export and import business. I pressed on till one of them asked me if I can keep a secret. He opened up and I joined them”.
While recounting her ordeal, the victim simply identified as Joy said,” It was on Wednesday afternoon, January 13th 2016 on my way to market. The lady amongst them flagged me down by calling Sabo passengers from Ikorodu garage.
“When I saw the lady sitting and calling for prospective passengers I never thought otherwise. Immediately I hopped in and sat down beside her. I saw three other men inside the car.
“Suddenly as we were progressing, the lady begged me to help her with my phone to make phone calls giving excuse that she had no call card on hers.
“As a lady, I handed over my phone to her and she made two separate calls with my phone. As we moved a bit far more, the driver detoured the journey to unknown destination.
“I queried the driver where he was taken me to, he refused to respond. Suddenly, they pulled over in the middle of the way, the driver pointed gun at me and the lady showed me knife to cooperate. They ransacked my bag and removed the whole money with the recharge cards, and they sped off.”
Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police, Dolapo Badmus, said that the Command will not rest until all criminal activities in the state are brought to the barest minimum.
“The leader and his gang members would be charged to court upon completion of investigation. The suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.” She added.
Okadigbo who denied been the ring leader said they only use his shrine as he specializes in doing money rituals and spiritual bath for client seeking children.
He was said to have duped a lady in Ikorodu in 2016, with supports from one Christian Odokor, 43.
“It is true they used my shrine and office. They bring their victims there but everybody operated on their own. They all assemble there but everybody managed their group…. Although, the fake dollar they use is mine but I don’t know anything about this job for which they have been arrested.
“I operated by selling herbs, but I market quick money rituals to people as well as herbs for people looking for children. I do spiritual bath for clients and that is how I defraud people and make my money.”
Odokor, another member of the gang said: “All of us, about nine groups that I know report to him (Okadigbo). We operated in different parts of the metropolis. He is so powerful and fiery that no police dare to arrest him. Now, I was shocked seeing him here with us in your custody.”

Wole Soyinka Confirms He Destroyed His Green Card

 Noble laureate, Wole Soyinka threatened to destroy his green card  a week before the US presidential elections last November, He however confirmed he has destroyed his green card because Donald Trump won.
Soyinka, the first African writer to be awarded the Nobel prize in literature, was jailed twice for his criticism of the Nigerian government during the 1960s, famously composing protest poems on toilet paper from his cell in solitary confinement. In 1994, Soyinka’s passport was confiscated by the de facto president Sani Abacha after he urged Nigerians to not pay taxes, as their money would aid the military. After years of living in voluntary exile and teaching overseas, Soyinka eventually sought refuge in the United States that same year, with the help of former US president Jimmy Carter. He later received a death sentence in absentia in 1997, from the regime under Abacha.
On 2 November, six days before the US election, Soyinka told a student audience at Oxford University’s Ertegun House that he would hold his own, self-described “Wolexit” if Trump won, and destroy his green card. “If in the unlikely event he does win, the first thing he’ll do is to say [that] all green-card holders must reapply to come back into the US. Well, I’m not waiting for that,” he said at the time. “The moment they announce his victory, I will cut my green card myself and start packing up.”

In an interview with the Atlantic on Tuesday, Soyinka confirmed he had followed through on his pledge to destroy his green card if Trump won as he celebrated Thanksgiving with his family in the US.
Soyinka, who has returned to living mainly in Nigeria since Abacha died in 1998, said he had made his green card “inoperable”. He did not expand on how he had destroyed it, but said: “I don’t have strong enough fingers to tear up a green card. As long as Trump is in charge, if I absolutely have to visit the United States, I prefer to go in the queue for a regular visa with others. I’m no longer part of the society, not even as a resident.”
Soyinka described the act as cathartic: “I delivered myself from uncertainty, from discomfort, from internal turmoil.”
In an interview with Nigeria’s the Interview magazine in November, Soyinka said he would destroy his green card in preparation for Trump’s inauguration on 20 January and that he “felt disaster in my marrow” as he watched the election results come in. “Trump’s wall is already under construction,” he said. “Walls are built in the mind, and Trump has erected walls, not only across the mental landscape of America, but across the global landscape.”

Fashola: Expect Steady Power Supply This Year

The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola SAN, has called on Nigerians to expect steady power supply this year, 2017.
Fashola stated this while making his opening aaddress as Guest Speaker at the January edition of the Nextier Power Dialogue on Saturday.
According to him, such policies would help realise a deepening of metering, sanctions for energy theft and better contract performance from Operators in the Power Sector as well as help achieve the financial strengthening of the Nigerian Bulk Energy Trading PLC (NBET).
Fashola said the government was working towards implementing policies that would improve gas and power supplies.
He informed his audience that, “Clearly these policies constitute the way forward and ensures that everybody in the system gets paid. If we have that, at least, we can be sure that those who are supplying gas will not be shutting down because their creditors are pulling them. Then we go to the other side that is angry to see what we can do because gas problem is exacerbated on both sides”.
The former Lagos State governor, who also explained the reason for the nationwide blackout, blamed the sabotage of gas pipelines by those he described as “some of our angry brothers.”
The Minister, who admitted that there had been some outages across the country in the last 24 hours, however, assured Nigerians that himself, the Permanent Secretary and other officials of the Ministry were trying to see what they could do to rectify the situation.

I infected 500 men with HIV in Zamfara, says prostitute on the run.

A woman is now on the run after allegedly infecting no fewer than 500 men with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in Zamfara State.

The woman, said to be a prostitute, is reported to have hailed from a state in the southern part of the country.

Already, the state’s Sharia police has mounted a manhunt for the fleeing sex worker.

She was said to have moved to Gusau, the state capital, in search of greener pastures before opening a sex shop in her rented apartment in a neighbourhood along Igbo Road.

According to reports, the woman gave the deadly virus to a good number of her customers, among
whom are some prominent persons in the state, during the spell of her sex trade.

NigeriaTribune reports that a source said under the condition of anonymity that things took a bad turn for the woman after she engaged in an open fight with a customer who suddenly accused her of carrying the deadly virus and spreading it to her customers.

Her sudden disappearance from the area, it was learnt, convinced many residents of the truth in the HIV allegation. Her whereabouts are said to still be unknown.

The source disclosed that some of the prominent persons infected had been placed on antiretroviral drugs by their physicians with others having their conditions managed at various health centres in the state.

When contacted, the chairman of the state’s Shari’ah monitoring group known as Hisbah, Dr Atiku Balarabe Zawiyya, said his group was aware of the development and confirmed the disappearance of the suspect after his men stormed her residence to arrest her.

Zawiyya said his group would continue to fight against social decay and moral degradation.

Roberto Esquivel Cabrera's penis measures an astonishing 18.9inches, the largest in the world. The 54yr old from Mexico says the size of his instrument renders him unable to hold down a job so he has to rely on food banks for sustenance. He's not eager to chop off the inches however, he turned down a size reduction because he prefers fame to sex. Roberto gained worldwide fame in 2015 after he was filmed weighing his penis to prove its authenticity.

His penis measured half a metre to smash the record believed to have been held by American actor Jonah Falcon, whose penis was 9.5 inches flaccid, and 13.5 inches when erect.

Speaking to Barcroft TV, Roberto said:

"I am famous because I have the biggest penis in the world.

She was also quick to respond to the backlash she received after welcoming her baby to the world. While reacting to the various rumours and online tongue lash she received from Nigerians, the actress simply said that everyone is entitled to their opinion.

 “I didn’t feel bad because we are all entitled to our opinions. Most people don’t know what other people go through but they are fast to bury them. We all hide behind our beautiful make-up and clothes that people forget that we all cry sometimes. 

And the most painful part is that it is mostly women that do these criticisms.  Some are even going through worse situations but they come on social media, wearing make-up and fine clothes and start commenting but when they go home, their husbands would slap them for not cooking their food early, and they receive it with smiles, walk away and say I’m fighting for my man. Hypocrites!”

The Clinic Matters actress said that she cannot describe the joy that comes with motherhood and contrary to popular belief; it is not a tough job being a single mother.

“Being a mother is the best feeling in the world and it’s unexplainable. If you’re a woman and you haven’t experienced it, you have to look forward to it and pray it happens. I remember when I used to hear our mothers say a woman is not complete without childbirth. I never believed them but sincerely now I do. In the last few days, the social media have been saturated with the crisis that allegedly rocked Tonto Dikeh's marriage. The issues have generated a lot of controversies because of the personalities involved.

An insider, a domestic staff for the family, has spilled alleged details on the marriage scandal.

According to an exclusive information gotten from one of Tonto's domestic staff, who does not want to be mentioned, the actress returned to her lifestyle of smoking marijuana which usually triggers her to destroy family properties at the slightest provocation. This was revealed to have
happened over three times including burning the husband's cloths and expensive interior valuables.

Please i want to be anonymous. I will go straight to the point. ever since my wife gave birth 5 months ago, our s ex life has become very boring. she never initiates s ex like before and her holy of holies has become something else. I no longer feel anything when we have s ex these days and the thing just gets so watery and makes annoying sloppy sounds that i often times have to think of my side chicks breasts before I can even release or even maintain my erection.

The first baby we had was not like this, her body recovered in about 2-3 months and the tightness was there but now i don’t even know when i penetrate her. even making love has become so boring to the extent that If i don’t think of another woman, i will just lose my erection and its becoming a frequent occurrence and i am not comfortable.

I see myself cheating on her more and more these days and it is not right but i dont know what else to do. I love s ex and deep down i dont like hurting or cheating on my wife but am helpless, i really love my wife cos she stood by me when i was down but i don’t get satisfied with her s ex these days. Ongoing insta tag drama between Mercy Aigbe and a fashioner designer

 

 

Popular actress and happily married mum of two, Mercy Aigbe, shared a photo of herself wearing a really nice outfit, and it got lots f praises from her fans on Instagram.

However, she failed to tag the fashion designer of the outfit and trouble started.

Designer, Phoonmy Afrika took to her Instagram to call out actress, Mercy Aigbe for showing off a dress she made for her and tagging another designer...

"As someone who had worked behind the camera in the Nigerian Entertainment Industry popularly called Nollywood and now a Fashion Designer,  I picked an interest in two Nollywood Stars @mercyaigbegentry and @jumokeodetola for two different reasons but as the Yoruba adage says: Isunmoni la nmo ise eni. On a closer look you get to know that these people are not what they portrayed.

Jumoke Odetola in her case lived up to standard as we approached her to flaunt one of our designs on social media, she responsibly did as agreed an even advertised our company to a few friends while Mercy Aigbe on the other hand collected the sewn garment, wore it to occasions, flaunted it on IG and refused to tag our Company which was the gentleman agreement we had. The problem here is not the fact that Mercy did tag us but her mannerisms when we approached her.

Mercy slyly responded well to our chat saying she would do a 'rerock' and tag us but immediately blocked our comments on our post then blocked us on instagram. We put a call through to Jumoke who acted as our link to Mercy tried to pacify the situation but another conversation with Jumoke's manager spurred our anger.

According to Mr Abiodun Jimoh @abeyjomo, on telling Mercy Aigbe that she shouldn't have worn the clothes since she knew she wouldn't give the Company that gave her the garment the credit, Mercy had replied that she has worn it and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

When we sent a message through Mr Jimoh that we would like to have our garment back. Mercy said it they can come and pick it, she later said No! She would not give it back. The big questions are? Did Mercy believe we gave her our clothe as Charity? Is she from a motherless baby's home? Does she feel so untouchable because she is a cheap star that she is? Does she by anyway know with whom she is dealing with? Things are about to get messy with Mercy and she should be ready for us because if we have to rip our clothes off her skin, we will... just to have it back."

After Mercy Aigbe's denial, the designer has shared a screenshot of their DM where she thanked her for the shirt.

 She wrote; "Dear @mercyaigbegentry you deleted all your messages from DM but... oops! You forgot to delete "hello" and "thanks for the shirt". Ok so how come you dont know the "so called design". Lol... YOU ARE A JOKE! "
